Thank you to our supporters!
Sunday, October 22 was picture perfect! Crisp fall weather, sunny skies, and a crowd of happy kids and adults enjoying themselves at the second annual Chelmsford Strides Forward, A Walk for Chelmsford Schools. Sponsored by the Chelmsford Schools Foundation, friends, family, and neighbors joined together at Friendship Park/Robert’s Field for a two-mile walk and fundraiser to support quality education in our Chelmsford schools. With the funds raised at the walk, the CSF will award grants to Chelmsford educators for innovative learning programs to benefit Chelmsford students.
The board members of the Chelmsford Schools Foundation would like to thank all of our supporters who participated in the fundraiser, both by walking and by helping behind the scenes. Thank you especially to Sue West for organizing the raffle, to Alexa Lambros and Katie Vooys for painting dozens of little faces, and to Jan Taranto for acting as our walk photographer.
Before the walk began, SodaPopTheClown entertained the children with balloon creations, and everyone enjoyed the free food and a chance to win prizes from our fantastic raffles! Every child received a Friendly’s Kids Meal coupon, plus two free Scholastic books. Our top sponsors included EmbroidMe, Alpha Tae Kwon Do Academy, Best Fitness, the Chelmsford Independent, Fitness Together, Friendly’s, Scholastic, SodaPopTheClown.com, and Vision Appraisal Technology. Food for the event was provided by Hannaford, Dunkin Donuts, Veryfine, and the Lowell Showcase Cinemas with a popcorn donation. We also thank the many local businesses who generously donated a variety of high-quality gift certificates for our raffle.
Thank you again for making the second annual Chelmsford Strides Forward, A Walk for Chelmsford Schools such a success. See you next year!
