July 4th Weekend Wednesday, July 06, 2005 (04:34:28) Posted by Sherm Well, we did it!! Our Fourth of July booth was a great success, and we couldn't have done it without the hard work of our volunteers. All of the board members of the Chelmsford Schools Foundation would like to thank you so much for your help in making our 4th of July booth the place to go for hotdogs, Krispy Kremes, and the best shortcake in town! A special thanks to Tricia Andrews, who got Starbucks to donate all of the coffee, and came to the booth before 7:00am to set it all up, and to Darlene Fertitta for lending us her tent and lights (and for setting them up). Thank you to Kelly Brown for lending us her table, huge cooler, and napkin baskets. To all the bakers: Deborah Morrissey, Cheryl Ostrowski, Kim Briand, Linda Moran, Bonnie Knapp, and Mary Kay Emero--your biscuits were delicious, and our customers raved about the homemade strawberry shortcake! Mary Kay, thank you for baking several extra batches early Saturday morning to meet the demand! To the booth help--Ron Ostrowski, Linda Moran, Deb Nagan-Lee, Kim Briand, you were quick on your feet, hardworking, and you all brought with you a sense of fun that kept us laughing and joking through the shifts. Thanks to Kathy Duffett for financial support! We made several extra trips to the store as hotdogs and shortcakes flew out of the booth! Our CSF booth was visited by hundreds and hundreds of people! We passed out CSF literature, talked with interested people about our goals and vision, and helped feed a hungry town!
